Cheers to Councillor for handling of pesky constituent

Councillor Jim Orr Edinburgh - Arrogant Bastard

It seems that Mr. Freeman feels it is his duty to write to all of his city’s councillors to ask the hard questions. Further, it seems that Mr. Freeman’s constituency councillor doesn’t want to answer them.

Dear Councillor,

I am writing to ask if you are one of the ‘senior’ councillors who, according to press reports, are the only people privy to the contents of the Deloitte Report which was commissioned with regard to the ongoing Statutory Repairs Investigations.

We now know that no further legal action is being taken in relation to those parties within CEC who were initially involved in procuring contractors for the purpose of these repairs.
In the interest of public accountability, I am requesting a copy of the report from you – if you have indeed viewed its contents.

I am asking for this information on behalf of a voluntary organisation which hopes to help Edinburgh home-owners achieve a proper settlement in relation to the hardships they are currently experiencing. Many home-owners are at their wits’ end facing colossal life-changing debts when paying for sub-standard and non-existent statutory repairs. No-one deserves this injustice.

If you decide to ‘DO THE RIGHT THING’, you can rest assured that your name will NOT be disclosed to ANY parties EVER – should you choose to hand over this information.

If we receive the information, we will not disclose the fact that we have it in our possession.

If it suits you, you may wish to forward the information anonymously through a set-up Google or Hotmail email account.

Kind regards,

E Freeman

Will all the pesky constituents please PISS OFF

What does he expect. I've already gotten his vote.

Quite right too Mr. Freeman. Reading the email, one would expect Mr. Freeman to be is in his early 70s, maybe owns three cats, probably reads the New Statesman and we think would like to finish off the night with a stiff wee gin and tonic. He’ll enjoy writing to local and national politicians. In fact, that may be his favourite hobby if you don’t count the Toby jug collection.

So imagine his surprise when his local councillor, Jim Orr, decided that his pesky constituents were getting in the way of him viewing his spreadsheets on his council-funded iPad and quickly wrote his short but sharp reply:

Dear Ellis Freeman
I have not seen the Deloitte report. Please exclude me from future correspondence on this issue.
Jim

This will be the same Jim Orr who questioned Edinburgh Sucks for being derogatory. Pot/Kettle Councillor. Of course associates himself with: Susan Calman: Death threats for independence satire. Knob Cheese.
